A Kissimmee mother is facing multiple child neglect charges after she left her four children home alone for days while traveling to Las Vegas, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said. On Wednesday, a juvenile called 911 to report that her 9-year-old brother had been struck in the head by a falling dumbbell at their home on Parkway Boulevard. When deputies arrived, they found four children — ages 9, 11, 12, and 14 — with no adult supervision. Fire rescue transported the 9-year-old to a hospital where he was treated and discharged, according to a news release. After deputies reached the children’s mother, Irene Miller, by phone, she told them she was working in Las Vegas and planned to return Friday. Investigators determined she had left for Las Vegas on Oct. 18 — five days before her scheduled return.
