Swastikas discovered on trees near Orange County early voting site — Windermere Community news

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a series of swastikas were discovered painted on trees near an early voting location.Orange County Supervisor of Elections Karen Castor Dentel said the symbols were found near the Taft Community Center Early Voting location. Her office began working with Orange County officials to have them removed and notified the sheriff’s office.“These symbols represent a history of hatred, antisemitism, and violence,” Castor Dentel said. “Their presence in our community is deeply disturbing and unacceptable.”Officials said it is not yet known who painted the symbols or what their intent was.Despite the discovery, the Taft Community Center and all 27 early voting locations in Orange County remain open. The Supervisor of Elections Office also reminded voters that intimidation is illegal and that state and federal laws protect people from threats, coercion and intimidation while votingClick here to download our free news, weather and smart TV ap
