Peace Day in the Park returns to Winter Park Central Park this Saturday

A free community event focused on peace, connection and the arts is returning to Winter Park this weekend.The Peace and Justice Institute will host its 18th annual Peace Day in the Park on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Central Park.The celebration will feature live music and dance performances, storytelling, poetry, public art, yoga and other wellness activities.Organizers said attendees can also participate in a “Human Library,” where members of the Central Florida community will share their experiences and perspectives.At noon, attendees will gather to form the event’s annual Human Peace Sign, followed by a free ice cream celebration.The event comes two days before the United Nations’ International Day of Peace.Click here to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps.
