The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority issued a systemwide precautionary boil water notice immediately following the impacts of Hurricane Isaias. To ensure public safety, they say customers must boil tap water for at least one minute before consuming it or using it for food preparation. Alternatively, residents should use commercially bottled water for drinking, cooking, and hygiene tasks until the utility authority officially lifts the warning. Officials also urge residents to cool the water before use. EUCA warns any water that has not been boiled or replaced by bottled water should not be used for drinking or any activity that results in ingestion. Customers should follow the precautionary boil water notice until ECUA confirms the water is safe for normal use.Click here to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps.
