Florida Amendments 1, 2 offer rainy-day fund boost, tax break

Florida has renamed its unclaimed property website.The Florida Treasure Hunt website is now Claim Your Cash Florida.gov. Florida Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia announced the change at a news conference in Orlando Tuesday.“I think, and my team thought, it was long past due for a rebranding of the name that better represents what the division does and how it will help Floridians claim the cash that rightfully belongs to them,” Ingoglia said.Ingoglia says the state’s Division of Unclaimed Property currently manages $3 billion in unclaimed property. That can include things like forgotten bank accounts, checks, utility deposits, stocks or safe deposit box contents. That property could belong to individuals, businesses, or local government entities.
