FEMA awards nearly $10 million for eight Florida recovery and mitigation projects

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced nearly $10 million in funding for eight recovery and mitigation projects across Florida.The allocation is part of more than $308 million announced by FEMA for almost 150 disaster recovery projects nationwide.FEMA is awarding nearly $5 million to reduce future disaster damage, alongside $4.7 million distributed across seven Public Assistance projects. According to FEMA, the project focuses on hardening drinking water pipelines for the Snake Creek transmission system to prevent, eliminate or reduce future disaster-related damage.The remaining $4.7 million funds seven Public Assistance projects statewide. Bay County got $560,000 for debris removal from 340 private properties, covering nearly 74,000 cubic yards.
