Dangerous surf, rip currents to continue along coast through weekend — Windermere Community news

Coastal conditions are expected to improve slightly after one more high tide cycle, but dangerous surf and rip currents will remain concerns along the coastline through the weekend.Wave heights are forecast to gradually decrease, though surf will remain elevated at 4 to 7 feet through the weekend. Beachgoers should continue to use caution as hazardous surf conditions and rip currents persist.Breezy northeast winds of 10 to 20 mph will continue today, helping push scattered showers across the area. That pattern is expected to hold through Saturday, with a 20% to 30% chance of passing showers in the forecast.Rain chances are expected to increase Sunday as additional moisture moves into the region, bringing a greater likelihood of showers. While some minor improvement in coastal conditions is on the way, hazardous surf and rip currents will remain the primary concerns through the weekend. Anyone heading to the beach should stay alert for changing conditions and follow beach safety guidance
